  • Munchkin-A-Thon

    Munchkin-A-Thon

We held a Munchkin-A-Thon this weekend for International Tabletop Day. Where we played nine consecutive hours of every type of Munchkin ever created! It was by far one of the most energetic and fun game days I’ve supported and I hope to do another Munchkin-A-Thon in the future.

So how did we do nine hours of Munchkin? (more…)

  • X-Men: Days of Future Past

    X-Men: Days of Future Past

The newest installment of Fox’s X-Men franchise is the Days of Future Past which encompasses the entire X-Men movieverse including Wolverine’s origin movies.  With most movies you can get away with not watching a few of the older ones but when watching Days of Future past I really feel like you need some serious mutant knowledge in order to fully  enjoy this film. The plot line is intricate and refers back to several previous movies and/or comics.

Maleficent, Evil never looked so Good

Maleficent is a live action take on Disney’s Sleeping Beauty seen through the eyes of the beautiful villainess Maleficent giving us a stunning and unique perspective on the 1950’s Disney classic. Maleficent has always been one of my favorite Disney characters as there was always something really awesome about her being able to turn into a dragon and trying to defeat the heroes. I mean, who doesn’t like dragons, right?

The Lego Movie, was Everything Awesome?

With all the franchising Lego has done with games and TV media, going  to the big screen was the next obvious step. What took them so long? I think they really took the time to go the extra mile here and make everything awesome. This movie decidedly sparks my ambitions to go to Lego Land this summer.

    The Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes a Dive

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to the re-booted Spider-Man franchise. Seeing the first Amazing Spider-Man is not a must as they re-explain the two plot threads that were brought over from the first movie but hold onto your wallets as this amazing story might not be what you expected.

Captain America, Spycraft at its Best

    Spoiler Free!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is an exciting sequel to the first film. The timeline places the action after The Avengers and Thor: Dark World in the Marvel movieverse. If you haven’t seen Thor the Dark World you’ll still understand everything that’s going on in the movie. I do recommend viewing  the other two movies first. If you’re trying to introduce comic haters or newbies to the movies then this is going to be your holy grail  film. It fully encompasses a real world 21st century feel and is jam packed political intrigue and epic spy games.

The Legend of the Table Toss

It’s time for some of that gaming drama you’ve all been waiting for! That’s right my friends, gaming is a social event and with social events comes lots of in-house squabbles, hurt feelings and dramatic exits. The story I’m telling you today is an actual event I saw take place. The names have been changed to protect the people involved and to create a much better story on paper.

This is the story of a boy named Link in:

The Legend of the Table Toss.

5 Things Girls Should Know About Gaming

Woman get a bad rap in the gaming world. They start out as “that one guy’s girlfriend” or perhaps the “tag along female who doesn’t know what she’s doing” or maybe if you’re really good at slaughtering people you become a legendary unicorn of the gaming world.

Fear no longer, for I have put together five steadfast rules to live by when navigating the untamed jungles of the gaming utopia. Don’t  let the world of gaming intimidate you again!
